Biturbo honda ns1
Biturbo exhaust honda ns1 74cc
Fits honda mbx 80, nsr 80 and ns1-74cc
Powerband between 6000-11000 rpm. Has a flat spot with the original ignition around 5500rpm. Works also great with a 45mm malossi cilinder for the AC08 engine. Only good for usage with a 45mm malossi cilinder or a mbx 80cc cilinder tuned to 185° exhausttiming.
Tavi Pata negra 80cc.
Tavi pata negra for mbx 80cc (Spanish). Out of production. Seems to be the fastest pipe for a standard 80cc mbx/nsr 80 cylinder. Never tested by myself though.
Tecno exhaust
Tecno exhaust for the mbx/nsr 80. Based on the polini design of the 90's. Works great on a big bore like malossi 53mm and athena 55mm and autisa 55mm or bored out mbx 80 cilinder (exhaust raised to 185°). Performs not so good on a 80cc. The pipe performs between 6500-11000 rpm with a standard malossi 53mm or 2mm raised athena cylinder. Is a good pipe for a very reasonable price (around 65 euro). Still in production. Topspeed with this pipe with 28mm Oko carb is around 130 km/H. The quality is poor, the pipe cracks fast and the paint drops fast.
Arrow honda ns1 74cc
Arrow, out of production. Is a good pipe for a standard cilinder (spanish). Performs also good on a 192° timed cylinder, but you have to use a honda nsr 50 flywheel and fastignition baseplate. Topspeed around 125km/u. Fits a honda mbx 80 or nsr 80 with slight adjustments but was originally designed for a ns1. Does not work great on a bigbore (53 or 55mm)
Giannelli honda ns1
Giannelli for the honda ns1. Out of production. Is one of the better pipes for the standard Cylinder (Spanish). Powerband between 7000-12000 rpm, topspeed around 125km/H. Also fits a honda mbx 80 or nsr 80 with slight adjustments. The pipe has a very nice curve and no flatspots. Ridebilty is very good, even better with a innerrotor ignition. Works good for a exhausttiming around 188°. Works not so well on a big bore.
Giannelli exhaust ns1 on a mbx 80.
Malossi honda mbx 80
malossi pipe for the honda mbx 80. Is a rather bad pipe. Works good on a AC08 engine with a 45mm malossi cylinder, but not on a 53mm malossi. The pipe is out of production but sometimes you can find one on the net. Performs between 6000-11000 with a 45mm cylinder and 6000-10000 rpm with a 80 or bigbore cilinder. Not worth the money spend. Fits a honda mbx 80/nsr 80 without adjustments.
Tuning a standard GE3G 79cc cylinder
Standard bore or 55mm bore
There are two good options: tuning the standard ge3g cylinder to 192° exhausttiming or bore out the original ge3g to 55mm and tune the exhaustports to 185°. the 79cc 192°timing is only for usage with a big carb like a 28 or 30 keihin and innerrotor and high performance exhaust. The bigbore version is to be used with a honda nsr 50 flywheel, fast ignition plate and original honda mbx 80 exhaust (the German one).
tuning the exhaustports
When you choose the bigbore, make sure to widen alot the exhaustports. Just keep in mind to use minimum 2 or 3mm cleance between the exhaustports and other ports.
Gilardoni comp. exhaust nsr 80
The gilardoni exhaust for the nsr 80. It has the same design as the giannelli for the ns1, except for the header of the pipe. This pipe was sold as a kit with the gilardoni nicasil 74 - 48mm cilinder. The cylinder is still availlable but the pipe ain't. Fairly good results between 7000-12000 rpm. The pipe has a good fitment and has a good curve.
Proma GP for mbx/nsr 80
The proma gp is a well known and used pipe in the Netherlands. The question is rather why...? The pipe delivers a overall delivery of power, it's not peaky. The pipe is still available for around 75-85 euro. The quality is poor, the pipe is loud. It deliver's its powerband between 6500-10000 rpm. Some people use this pipe with a malossi 53 cylinder, although the tecno, above mentioned, is better on top power than this proma
Turbokit carr0603 for mbx 80 and nsr 80.
For me this is the 'the pipe'. Turbokit has made this exhaust for about 2-3 years but from what I've read it isn't made anymore. The pipe delivers a strong punch between 9000-13500 rpm with a 192° tuned cylinder. This pipe in the pic is the 'high quality' pipe with the chrome finish. The pipe is designed for usage with an innerrotor ignition such as the HPI or motoplat or italkit/selettra or any kind high revving ignition. The pipe produces on my mbx 80 (the one on the pic) with a 30mm oko carb, completely tuned cylinder and head, hpi ignition, tuned carters 20.9 hp on the crank. The pipe delivers a strong boost in the top range. You can cruise with the pipe in the lower rpm's, but all the power is in the higher rpm's. The pipe delivers a very nice curve, no stutters what so ever.
Turbokit carr0603
The pipe can also be used with a big bore version of the mbx/nsr cylinder, but the exhausttiming must be set around 192°. The pipe was intentionally designed to operate between 192°-198° exhausttiming. The pipe is race orientated and from what I've read used in the Spanish 80cc competition class. For big bore usage an malossi 53 mm can be applied. Just raise the ports or the cylinder itself about 3mm. A euro/athena 55mm kit is more difficult to raise in portheight, due to peeling of the chrome when worked on. The autisa 55mm can also be used, but it must be worked on very extensively. My experience is that a standard German GE3G cylinder will suffice, but than again it must be tuned alot on the exhaustports. A GE3F cylinder should be raised only 1mm to start with on the exhaust. But this type of cylinder is in my region quite rare. The pipe was sold between 192 euro in the factory and 249 euro retail. The fitment isn't that good, you have to twist the exhaust a little bit to fit the chassis of the mbx/nsr. Personnaly for me it compares with the handmade exhaust of Van Helden. It has the same performance.
Yasuni nsr 80
Found this pic of the yasuni nsr 80 on the net. I have no experience with this pipe, but from the looks of it is a racepipe. Only sold during the 90's in Spain. Not for sale in Belgium.
Ninja carte noir G1 for a MBK 51/magnum
The French Ninja Carte noir pipe is actually produced for the mbk 51/magnum. But with slight adaptation (weld a tecno exhaustheader on the pipe) you can install this exhaust and use it on a 50cc engine. The pipe is designed for 185° 50cc cylinders. I have used/tested this pipe with a tuned GE2 'Belgian' honda mbx 50cc cylinder. The pipe performs well between 7000-12000 rpm. I used a oko 28mm carb on it and it ran very smooth. The pipe is still for sale and is sold mainly in France for around 125-140 euro. It has a very nice finish and racy look and sound to it. For 50cc users this pipe is considered as a very good performer although it was not made specific for the mbx/nsr 50. The pipe performs rather bad on a 80cc cylinder.
Giannelli sport for a mbk 51/magnum.
Like the ninja above, this giannelli sport exhaust is also made for a mbk51/magnum. But this pipe is made for a 192° exhausttimed 50cc cylinder. This pipe can be used with a strong tuned 50cc cylinder (like the GT4 or GE2) that is set around 192°. The pipe delivers its power between 9000-13500 rpm and can be used for competition. The pipe is still for sale, although hard to find. Pricing is around 150 euro, a bit the same of the ninja. This pipe is higher revving than the ninja. On the pic mentioned, the exhaust is installed on a honda ns1 chassis. To fit the pipe, just use the original header of the pipe (it turns) and weld a tecno spacer on it. The pipe is the closest thing to a handmade exhaust for 192° setups. Other 50cc exhausts are designed for lower rpm's. The pipe does not work well on a 80cc cylinder. It is rideable though but it misses that punch.
Zen exhaust for a ns1 50cc.
The zen pipe is one of the best pipes for a standard Belgian GE2 50cc cylinder. The pipe is made in Spain for the ns1 chassis. But with slight adaptations (tecno header) the exhaust will fit a mbx 80 cylinder. The powerband is strong on a 50cc between 6500-11000 rpm. I used this pipe in combination with a malossi 45.5 mm cylinder and innerrotor motoplat and a 21mm carb. Topspeed was around 118-120 km/u. The pipe can be used on a 80 config but is designed for the 50cc. The pipe's quality finish is poor and it makes alot of sound. Sometimes you can find one on the net. Overall the pipe is for a 50cc or 65cc setup a good choice.

the gilardoni exhaust for the nsr 80. Also known as a giannelli race pipe (the design was the same). The pipe was sold together with the gilardoni/italkit 74cc alu cylinder
Van Helden 98cc 195° racepipe
Ninja G2 open carte noir racepipe for 50cc
The ninja G2 of the early 90's was a race pipe, designed for a MBK 51/magnum. The pipe fitted a mbx/nsr chassis and engine, simply by welding another header to the pipe. The pipe was designed for 192° cylinder setups, yet by shortening the exhaust with 2cm it could operate on 195° setups. In the beginning of the Belgian racescene this type of exhaust was very common. Later on it was replaced my handmade exhausts. This engine, heavily modified, produced 14hp with a 28 mm mikuni carb and motoplat ignition. The cilinder was a heavily modified 198° timed one and ran in combination with the pipe around a realistic 135km/u, depending on the fuel used. These pipes are really hard to find in secondhand. In the 90's they were cheap (only 75 euro) and very popular in France. Powerbanddelivery was between 9000-14000 rpm. This pipe had only a stinger of 10mm in diametre, so it could not be used with a bigbore +50cc cylinder.
Reissue Ninja open G2 Carte noir for mbk (fits mbx/nsr 50)
Ninja has made in january 2013 a reissue of the famous ninja open g2 carte noir. The pipe was popular in the nineties. The reissue is made in very limited numbers. The price is 249 euro. Very beautiful pipe and goes wel with a 195° ported 50cc race cylinder for a mbx 50/nsr 50 engine. The pipe is made for a mbk 51, but will fit any racetimed cylinder. The pipe is considered as very racy, between 12000-14000rpm, so only fit this pipe when you have a minimal tuned 192° cylinder at the exhaust and innerrotor with big carb.
Simonini exhaust for the honda mbx 50
The 'short' simonini, made in Italy, was a very popular pipe in Belgium during the 80's and early 90's. In fact the word 'short' is somewhat misleading. The pipe has a turn in the middle of the expansion. The exhaust was used with Belgian GE2 cylinders, untuned. The pipe is fairly fast, but the zen for example is way better. Sometimes you can find a new one (old stock). The pipe had it's powerband between 6500-11000 rpm and went to 95-100km/u in its standard form. The pipe was primarily designed for the mbx 50 LC, so no cutting or what so ever had to be done. I use to own one out of nostalgic reasons, but sold it because it lacked that real performance.
Zen Ns 1 50cc pipe fitted on a mbx

Metrakit 50cc exhaust for the honda ns1
The metrakit exhaust is the one fitted on the black honda mbx. The pipe is designed for the honda ns1 50cc displacement. The pipe is of good build quality and is very silent. Although perfomance isn't that good. For the 50cc cilinder it gives its powerband between 6500-11000 rpm. By widening the holes on the pipe you can fit it on a mbx 80 cylinder. I have tested it on my old malossi 53mm cylinder and performance was good for streetusage. It had good torque, but lacked high end speed. It delivered its powerband between 6000-10000 rpm when used on a malossi 53mm cylinder. The pipe isn't available anymore. A better choice for a original setup is the zen exhaust 50cc. The picture is 10 years old so it was the last year it was produced/made by metrakit.
Tavi TH for nsr 80
The tavi TH for the nsr 80. I have no experience with this pipe. I guess it is a racepipe, for which exhausttiming I'm not sure. Tavi has several good pipes, although they are unavailable in the Benelux. Pricing is not cheap, occasionally you see one for sale in Spain, secondhand prices vary between 100 and 200 euro. The TH should produce aproxx 14 hp on a nsr 80 (the GE3F cylinder) and from the looks of it, it is a highrevver. I believe the exhaust is still available in Spain, prices are unknown.
Tavi for mbx/nsr 80
a picture of another type of TAVi exhaust. It's is the pipe with the 'fat belly', should be one of the highest HP performance pipes of the lot. This unknown owner has done a chrome finish on the pipe. For me, this pipe is real looker and seems to be a very nice performer too. I think this is also called the tavi 'pata negra' pipe. The normal finish was black I think an should perform on a GE3F cylinder around 14,5 hp
Arrow for the honda ns1 50cc
Arrowpipe for the honda ns1 50cc. I have no information about this pipe. Viewing its shape its is more torque than a high rev pipe. I think the pipe went out of production around 2010.
Kundo banzai II for the honda ns1 50cc
I would like to thank the owner of the pic and bike. There isn't any information available for this pipe. Looking at its shape I guess its not a bad pipe. I think the pipe is still made by kundo, but then I again I could be wrong. Fact is that we know for sure that it excisted. Kundo is a Spanish brand, located in Murcia. Its predescessor is the above mentioned biturbo pipe.
Leovinci for the mbx and nsr 50
I use to own such a pipe but I threw it away...says something about its performance. 17 years ago I had this pipe on my nsr with a 45.5mm malossi cylinder. The performance really sucked and the biturbopipe was a far better choice. Powerband only to 10000 rpm and power came in very lame. The pipe was also very noisy. Not for sale anymore, sometimes you find one secondhand, it was failry popular in Belgium during the 90's. I have never tested the pipe on a 50cc setup. Hopefully it worked well on that displacement.
Jolly moto for the nsr 50
Never tested this pipe. Is a very nicely made exhaust but its pricing is very high. Still available between 260-300 euro. But is the 300 euro worth spend? I think there are far more better and cheaper solutions for finding an equivalent pipe, like finding a ninja G1 secondhand, which aslmost a identical shape. Italian made and quite rare on a mbx/nsr.
Detailpicture of the ninja G1 carte noir for a mbk51. The pipe hangs a bit off, but then again, when mounted with the little fairing or on a nsr 50/ns1 only the belly will be visible. Here the setup is a tuned GE2 50cc to 192°, motoplat innerrotor and imitation keihin 28mm. No flat spots what so ever.
Giannelli sport for the mbk 51 vs the zen pipe for the honda ns1. Two good choices, the giannelli gives more revs than the zen. Only to use on a 50cc, but also adaptable on a honda ns1 74cc/48mm cylinder (zen pipe cfr. Maurice from Holland)
Fasmem exhaust for the honda ns1 50cc.
Sorry, but no information available concerning the pipe. I think it is no longer made. Produced in Spain. Sometimes you can still find a new one one the net...
Here above is a picture of a NINJA exhaust for the honda nsr 50. There is no information available for the pipe. I once saw one hanging in a moped store, about 18 years ago.

Arrow exhaust fot the honda mbx and honda nsr 80

No details however about its performance...seems to be very rare...

Tavi criterium 80cc nsr 80
The tavi criterium is a rare racepipe for the nsr 80. Never seen one in real life, but it was often used in the 90's in the 80cc Spanish races. On the pic, the engine uses a motoplat innerrotor ignition. I also use one, it is a good rotor, a bit tricky to get it run good. It is a stabile ignition. Here this nsr 80 uses a 32mm dell'orto carb.
ZEN 80cc for the nsr/mbx 80
A zen pipe, 80cc version. Never tested it, but still available in Spain for around 200-250 euro. Expensive pipe, reminds me of a yasuni R2 for the derbi and am6 engines.

Turbokit carr10 on a mbx 80
As you can see a turbokit for a derbi or AM6 fits the mbx/nsr. These pipes are developed for timings between 194°-198°. Simply tune your mbx to a minimal 192° exhaust timing, fit a innerrotor and put on a big carb minimal 28mm. The turbokit carr10 or 11 fits the mbx with minor adaption. Just use a proma 80cc or tecno flange to fit the cylinder. It has the same performance than a turbokit 0603 carr. Looks a not that good, but if you're only interested in performance, than this is a good pipe. Turbokit claims that it can hit 15000rpm and achieve 28 hp with this pipe.
Jazen racing 74/80cc
The Spanish Jazen racing for the 74/80cc. From what I hear they are good race pipes, only available in Spain for about 160 euro, in fact one of the cheapest racepipes. Hydroform made pipe, so slightly better then welden pipes. They look alike the turbokit carr10/11 for derbi and am6. The pipe should have a powerband between 9000-14000 rpm.
Japanese exhausts
Next up are several Japanese pipes, always expensive (around 300-400 euro without shipment). In Japan they still use crazy prices...
First up is the JHA exhaust for the nsr 80 (minibike). It's made for the JHA 55mm kit, which was during the days around a 1000 dollar...a bit silly for a bore out mbx/nsr cylinder...

Kitaco 63 cc pipe
The kitaco 63cc pipe. From what I know, you have 2 versions. A race 63cc one and a standard one. The race pipe costs around 300-380 euro and is to be used with the kitaco 63cc cylinder for the AC08 engines (which are standard 50cc LC engines)
kitaco 50cc for the nsr 50
The kitaco pipe for the minibike nsr 50.
Windjammer
the windjammer pipe. I do not know whether it is for a 50 or 80cc displacement...only available in Japan. My guess is, that it is a 50cc pipe.
