the first honda nsr I had. Setup was a malossi 53mm cylinder, with original cylinderhead. Carb is a malossi/dell'orto 26mm and the pipe is a Tecno. The chassis was strenghtened and came off a nsr 50. The radiator came of a polini kit of a honda camino. Topspeed of this nsr was 130km/u. It has a mbx 50 swingarm, which meant its wheelbase was a couple of centimetres shorter than the nsr. With the 17 inch frontwheel meant is cornered faster than the mbx 80/50 18 inch frontwheel. Good for short tracks but not for long fast cornering.
This is a mbx frame with a malossi 46,3mm cylinder mounted. The bike used a 24 mikuni carb and a adapted giannelli sport exhaust. Performance wasn't spectacular since it lacked an innerrotor. With the original ignition the engine couldn't deliver its full potential. The seat is a mbk 51 seat.
The nsr chassis was later on fitted with 18 inch honda rs 125 wheels. A 320 mm brakingdisc was added for extra stoppingpower and a frontsuspensionspacer was installed for better handling.
honda mbx 50, with 50cc race setup. In its day it had 14HP, without balancing axl and a bosch electrical waterpump was installed. Topspeed, depending on the used cilinderhead and fuel (avgas) it rode 135km/u.
Race nsr 80 Alzamora
The race nsr 80 of Alzamora, used in the 90's in the 80cc races in Spain. I do not have details on the specs of the engine. From what I've read, most drivers installed a tavi or yasuni race exhaust and changed the original rear suspension by one of the brand 'rolling'. A 31mm dell'orto carb was installed in some occasions. If you have any information about this bike, feel free to take contact with me.
monocoque !polyester! frame racer during the '80's.
My old nsr/mbx 80cc racer. Runs at 20.9hp at the crank, with a turbokit carr0603 exhaust. Wheels are of a honda rs 125, seat is honda rs 125 NF4, the fairing is from a yamaha TZR 50.
Old pic of my nsr/mbx 80, with honda rs 125 2000 seat and malossi exhaust. The pipe was just for testing, gave bad results in powerdelivery...
Very nice engine with dry clutch. Very rare and expensive to get. The pipe is a Lips racing from Japan I guess...
Honda nsr 80 racer
Criterium racer of the nineties. Uses a motoplat, dell'orto 31/32mm carb and a tavi criterium or yasuni nsr 80 pipe.
